Sales Engineer

The Sales Engineer will be responsible for all technical aspects of the sales cycle, with a focus on accelerating Partner integrations with PayJoy APIs and ensuring Partner Satisfaction. The Sales Engineer will be an integral part of the Commercial team and will work closely with the Technical Program Manager to ensure we are delivering on Company Level OKRs.

You will build on the success of PayJoy’s phone financing business to meet ambitious growth goals. You will be the owner of all things Partner Engineering for Spanish Speaking LatAm, with a focus on minimizing delays and accelerating Commercial launches with large PayJoy partners, including large telecommunication carriers, retailers and authorized dealers across the region. 

You'll work with teammates across the company, from Operations, Business Development, Product, Engineering and the Executive Team to launch, and scale PayJoy products. You will also work closely with Partner engineering, product, and commercial teams to ensure timely launches of PayJoy products. You can break down complex problems into steps that drive PayJoy forward. The organization will depend on this person's technical expertise and creativity to deliverable solutions alongside our Partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a technical advisor during interactions with prospective Partners throughout the pre-sales process.
  • Seek and understand Partner challenges, current and future business processes, and organizational needs – and design customized solutions utilizing existing PayJoy APIs.
  • Lead and engage in Partner-facing conversations, including technical staff, business leadership, and C-level executives.
  • Work seamlessly with internal stakeholders from all cross-functional teams.
  • Identify and understand project scope, timelines, and solutions while providing accurate level of effort estimates.
  • Support the creation of key deliverables in the pre-sales and sales process.
  • Design, facilitate, and deliver customized technical implementations.
  • Manage multiple prospects at a time and support new and existing business opportunities across the region.
  • This role may require delivering code to Partner’s respective engineering teams to ensure successful API integrations.
  • This role may require up to 75% travel, including working on-site with Partners.
  • Assist in responses to RFIs and RFPs (Request For Proposal).
  • Required qualifications:

  • 5+ years work experience in software development, sales/partner engineering roles.
  • Experience with JavaScript, HTML, Python, PHP, and SQL.
  • Self-orientation, drive, and ability to communicate clearly and persuasively to business partners, customers, and different members of our team.
  • Strong project management and interpersonal skills. Able to build and manage strong relationships with cross-functional colleagues and external partners.
  • Spanish & English required.
  • Desired qualifications:

  • B.A./B.S. degree in Computer Science or Engineering
  • Experience launching a consumer finance solution/app
  • Experience designing and implementing complex API integrations
  • Experience working directly with Large, Commercial Partners
