HR Generalist / Recruiter - South Africa

PayJoy is looking for an HR Generalist to help build our local team, while also creating and sustaining an inclusive and welcoming environment. This role will report to the Global HR Manager (based in SF) and is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and working closely with senior HR and local management in supporting South Africa, as well as PayJoy locations in Asia.


  • Serve as the HR representative for South Africa to implement programs and procedures.
  • Partner with the PayJoy Recruiting Manager and local leaders to handle local recruiting for Sales, CX, and professional positions, as assigned.
  • Conduct companywide onboarding processes to enhance the new hire experience and further culture engagement activities.
  • Function as the local point of contact for South Africa HR initiatives and programs.
  • Research and resolve issues according to defined scope and in alignment with corporate, local, and regional guidelines.
  • Lead or participate on project teams to develop and execute new policies, programs or tools within the company.
  • Manage all office related activities.
  • Requirements

  • 3-5 years working in HR as a generalist, with recruiting experience
  • Experience in startups or globally-dispersed companies preferred
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-growing company and coordinate with HR colleagues globally
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
